Tree planting at Waitahuna

On Tuesday Room 4 and 7 went on a trip to Waitahuna
to Nick's farm. First Room 4 and 7 split up into groups. Room 7 went electric fishing with Keiran and Angus and Room 4 went tree planting with Glenn , Matt and these two ladies from the Regional Council. On the farm, we planted flaxes along the river. When we planted the trees we had to dig the holes and put the plants in the hole and stand on the dirt, otherwise, the plant would come out really easily. We planted the trees because we wanted to help the fish and eels that live in  the Waitahuna river to have a better, stronger and healthier environment to live in. The flaxes help the eels stay safe, hide from other predators and to keep the river strong. After we  dug the holes we got an adult to help us put the plants in the hole and get them out of the bag. The two classes planted about 200 flax bushes while we were there.
While we were there Keiran showed us the eel he had caught overnight. IT WAS AWESOME DOING ALL THAT STUFF!!!!!!!.
